A Maryland standard residential lease agreement is a binding rental contract that lets a landlord rent property to a tenant for a fixed period. The tenant will commonly pay rent on the 1st of every month and pay a security deposit, usually equaling one (1) month’s rent, at the start of the lease. Before signing a lease, it is highly recommended the landlord verify the tenant’s credentials through a rental application.
