Kentucky Standard Residential Lease Agreement

Updated August 04, 2023

A Kentucky standard lease agreement is a recommended tool for defining and solidifying a landlord-tenant relationship. The landlord will write a lease after they have verified the tenant through a rental application. At the time of lease signing, the landlord will be obligated to give the tenant a move-in checklist if they collect a security deposit (§ 383.580(2)). In addition, the landlord will need to provide a security deposit receipt detailing the bank account and the number where the funds are located (§ 383.580(1)).
