Illinois 10-Day Notice to Quit Form (Non-Compliance)

Updated July 17, 2023

An Illinois 10-Day Notice to Quit (Non-Compliance) is a letter used when a tenant defaults on any of the terms of their lease agreement. If the landlord elects to terminate the tenancy due to the breach, the landlord must give the tenant no less than 10 days’ notice to move out and deliver up possession. The notice to quit needs to be signed by the lessor or their agent and properly delivered to the tenant. No other form of notice for possession or demand is necessary, however, the landlord will still need to fill out an Affidavit of Service after the notice was served which shows proof that the notice to quit was served.
