Nebraska bill of sale forms are documents that prove the sale and change of ownership of private property. They are often used in the private sales of cars and boats but they can be used for any type of personal property.
A bill of sale should include details about the parties, purchase price, description of the property, and the date of sale.

 Motor Vehicle Bill of Sale – This will document the sale, purchase, and prove a change of ownership of a motor vehicle. This form is often required for registration.

Vehicle Registration Forms
- Bill of Sale;
- Odometer Disclosure Statement (DMV Form);
- Certificate of Title (for replacements, submit an Application for Duplicate Certificate of Title to a county treasurer’s office);
- Valid driver’s license;
- Nebraska Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney is required if a third party individual is registering the vehicle on behalf of the owner;
- Registration Fees;
- Proof that sales or excise tax was paid; and
- Proof of Insurance with Minimum Requirements:
- $25,000 for bodily injury or death of one person;
- $25000 for property damage; and
- $50,000 for total bodily injury or death.
Boat Registration Forms
- Application for Certificate of Title;
- Application for Boat Number and Certificate;
- Since all boats must have a Hull ID number (HIN), if you have not been assigned a number, you may use this Assigned Number ID Application to acquire a number that is legally required to operate your boat on Nebraska waterways;
- NO boat insurance is required, but it’s highly recommended that you acquire insurance for your security as well as the security of your fellow boaters, both sharing the waterways and those who may board your vessel;
- A bill of sale;
- Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO);
- Certificate of Title – properly assigned;
- If you’ve purchased a motorboat and were not provided the appropriate documentation to provide evidence of ownership, you may be eligible for a Bonded Certificate of Title;
- Copy of photo ID if you’re mailing the documents; and
- Be prepared to pay all taxes and registration fees.
