Registering a Vehicle

New residents and vehicle owners have 60 days to register their vehicle after moving and purchasing, respectively. Registration must be renewed annually. Owners can renew online, in person at a DVS Deputy Registrar’s office, or by mail.

Odometer Disclosure Statement (Federal Form) – This form is required to be attached to the motor vehicle bill of sale if the vehicle is less than ten years old and under 16,000 pounds.

Where to Register

Vehicle owners can register and renew in person at a DVS Deputy Registrar’s office or by regular mail with an Application to Title and Register a Motor Vehicle (PS2000). They can also renew online at the Minnesota DMV’s website.
