An Arizona motor vehicle bill of sale (ADOT Form 48-2004) is a legal document that transfers ownership of a motor vehicle from a seller to the buyer after the purchase price has been paid. A bill of sale is a basic agreement and sales receipt for both parties. It will also be required to register the vehicle registration and must be signed by the seller in the presence of a notary public.

Registering a Vehicle

A vehicle that will be registered and reside in the state of Arizona will require registration within 15 days of purchase. Registration may be for one (1) or two (2) years, depending on the vehicle. A current vehicle registration may be renewed online.

An individual will be required to go to their local Arizona MVD Office to register their vehicle.
